College, and what comes after

A relationship that continued.

“Working with Jen during my college application process was truly the best! She made a stressful and overwhelming experience feel so much easier and actually exciting. She was always there whenever I had a question or needed advice, and she truly cared about helping me find the right school for me. I ended up at the University of South Carolina, a school that I absolutely love and couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. Now, four years later, I’m working with Jen all over again, but this time as I apply to grad school! I’m so grateful to have her guidance and support through both of these huge chapters in my life, and I truly couldn’t recommend her enough!”

Finding a direction

A plan for his interests.

“I was lost when it came to applying to college. I knew I wanted to go to a good school, play rugby, and had a basic idea of majors, but that was it. My counseling sessions really helped solidify a strategy for my college applications. I was late to the game with athletic recruitment, but the expert advice I received from what to include in my initial email to coaches all the way to building a skills video and ending with learning how to keep in touch with the coaches truly helped. I am excited to play on the Syracuse Rugby team this fall and start on my path towards a career aimed at helping others.”

Discovering a fit

Shannon’s story

“Not only was I helped to refine my essay and fit it into the structure that would get me into my schools, but I was helped to realize through discussions what my personal growth had been and how to make it my topic. I was helped to write my essays, prepare for interviews, and figure out what schools were genuine fits for me (I had never heard of the institution I’m attending before these meetings). Thanks to this counseling I got into Wesleyan University, where I am currently very happy!”

Making a choice

Olivia’s story

“When I started the college application process, I expressed in my sessions that I wanted to be in the D.C area. I was given advice on which schools to apply to, and I was accepted into American University, George Washington University, and the University of Maryland, College Park. I was guided through deciding between three amazing schools and I accepted my place at UMDCP. I am even graduating a year early because of the college courses I was advised to take in high school. I am now thriving at UMDCP where I joined a sorority my first semester and have a career path in mind that I am excited for.”
