Essays & supplements
The strongest essay sounds like the person who wrote it.
Personal essay coaching, thoughtful review, and revision with Jen that protect the student’s voice.
What the work is about
Find the idea worth telling.
An effective essay begins with careful noticing: the experience you keep thinking about, the question you pursued, or the ordinary moment that changed your understanding. We help you identify what matters and make the writing clearer without replacing your voice.

Who this is for
Students with a blank page, a rough idea, or a draft that does not yet feel like their own. Support can focus on a personal statement, supplemental essays, or both.
What we can work on
- Conversations to identify experiences, values, and useful story possibilities
- A workable focus and structure before polishing sentences
- Feedback on clarity, reflection, detail, and the balance between story and meaning
- A plan for school-specific supplements that responds to each prompt
- A final review for consistency, readability, and the student’s own voice
How we approach it
Discover
Talk through experiences and write exploratory notes without trying to sound impressive.
Develop
Choose an idea, draft it, and examine what the reader can actually learn about you.
Refine
Revise with specific feedback, then read the essay aloud to check whether it sounds like you.
Your work stays yours.
Students write their own essays. Jen offers questions, feedback, and revision guidance. We do not write application essays on a student’s behalf or promise that an essay will produce an admission result.
Do I need a complete draft before we meet?
No. Brainstorming can be the starting point. If you already have a draft, bring the prompt and the version that best reflects your current thinking.
